Reefs, underwater landscapes and marine life: discover what makes this route special.

01
Night dive

Alimatha House Reef

The ocean after sunset

As daylight fades, Alimatha’s house reef reveals a different world. In your torch beam, you may see nurse sharks, rays and marine life that stayed hidden during the day.

The atmosphere is part of the experience: dark water, light on the sand and animals moving quietly past. Night dives require a briefing and suitable experience; their inclusion is arranged in advance.

Ocean channel

Miyaru Kandu

In the flow of ocean life

This channel connects the lagoon to the open ocean. Currents bring nutrients, gather schools of fish and create opportunities to encounter reef sharks.

This is a dive with character: the route changes with the current, and there is plenty to watch out in the blue. Suitable experience is required, and the guide makes the final decision.

Walls and overhangs

Fulidhoo Caves

Discover the ocean’s finer details

Walls, recesses and overhangs create countless small hiding places. Soft corals add colour, while smaller marine creatures reward those who slow down and look closely.

After the energy of the channels, take time to explore the reef’s shape and look for details to photograph. The name does not mean a standard dive includes entering enclosed caves.
