Booking and cancellation terms
These terms describe City-Sea packages, booking confirmation, programme changes and refunds. A booking is confirmed only after all material terms have been agreed in writing and the agreed payment has been received.
1. General information
- City-Sea coordinates the trip programme and communication with selected local dive centres and accommodation providers.
- Programme islands: Dhigurah in South Ari Atoll and Fulidhoo in Vaavu Atoll.
- The specific dive centre, guest house, boat schedule and dive sites are confirmed before payment or in the written booking confirmation.
- Encounters with whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, nurse sharks and other marine life depend on nature and cannot be guaranteed.
2. Packages and prices
| Package | Dives | Price per diver |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | 2 | $150 |
| 3 days | 6 | $400 |
| 5 days | 10 | $600 |
| 7 days | 14 | $800 |
- A guest house may be added at $100 per day for a private room for one or two people unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Breakfast is included in the 5-day and 7-day packages. Meals for other packages and full board are agreed separately.
- Standard dive equipment rental and programme-related transfers on the island are included unless the confirmation states otherwise.
- International and domestic flights are booked and paid for by the client and are not included.
- Airport transfer, fees, insurance, personal expenses and optional services are included only when expressly confirmed in writing.
- A 10 percent group discount may apply. Group size and final price are confirmed in writing before payment.
3. Request and confirmation
- The client provides their name, contact details, preferred island, dates, package, diving experience and accommodation needs.
- City-Sea checks availability and sends a written proposal listing the services, total price, payment schedule and payment recipient.
- The client reviews the proposal and confirms acceptance in writing.
- The booking becomes effective after City-Sea's written confirmation and receipt of the agreed payment.
4. Client cancellation and refunds
Cancellation must be sent in writing through the same communication channel used for booking. The notice period is counted in calendar days before the first day of the paid programme.
| Cancellation received | Refund treatment |
|---|---|
| 21 days or more before start | Full refund of the amounts received by City-Sea for the cancelled services. |
| Less than 21 days before start | Refund of the amount paid, less actual, non-refundable and documented costs incurred for the client's booking. |
| After the programme starts | Refund for services not provided, less actual documented costs; services already provided are not refundable. |
A blanket forfeiture of all payments does not apply where it conflicts with mandatory law. If applicable law gives the client broader rights, that law prevails.
City-Sea will communicate the refund timing and payment method after calculation and will provide a clear explanation of retained costs, with supporting information on request to the extent permitted by supplier obligations.
5. Programme changes and cancellation
- Dive sites and times may be changed by the dive centre due to weather, currents, sea conditions, group experience, technical issues or environmental restrictions.
- A safe and reasonably equivalent dive-site substitution is not a material reduction of the programme.
- If City-Sea cancels a paid service and no agreed replacement is provided, the client receives a refund for the service not provided.
- For circumstances outside the parties' reasonable control, supplier rules and mandatory law apply; the parties first seek rescheduling or an equivalent substitute.
6. Safety and eligibility
- The local instructor or dive centre makes the final decision on participation.
- The client provides accurate information about certification, experience, health and medical restrictions and follows safety instructions.
- Beginners receive an appropriate briefing and entry-level programme. Prior diving knowledge is not required, but depth and format are determined by the instructor.
- Clients are strongly advised to obtain insurance that expressly covers scuba diving, medical evacuation and the trip.
7. Complaints and priority
Any issue during the trip should be reported to City-Sea and the local provider as soon as possible so that it can be addressed. The individual written booking confirmation prevails over general website descriptions. Mandatory applicable law prevails over these terms.
