These are planning guidelines, not availability guarantees. Earlier dates make it easier to arrange the boat, instructor, accommodation and correct equipment sizes.
Safety
- Follow the briefing and the instructor's decisions, including a dive-site change due to currents or weather.
- Do not dive if you feel unwell. Tell the instructor in advance about medical conditions, medication, pregnancy, recent surgery or anything else that may affect safety.
- Avoid alcohol before diving, stay hydrated and use reef-safe sun protection.
- Allow at least 24 hours between the final dive and flying or travelling to significant altitude, unless the instructor or dive computer requires a longer interval.
- Wildlife encounters are not guaranteed. Do not touch coral or marine animals and do not chase them for photographs.
Packing checklist
- passport, insurance, insurer contacts, diving certification and logbook;
- swimwear, light clothing, hat, sunglasses and a reusable water bottle;
- personal mask, computer or regulator if you prefer your own equipment;
- medication in original packaging, a waterproof pouch and document copies.
On the island
- Check the next day's schedule and meeting time in the evening.
- Fit the equipment and report any issue before the boat departs.
- During the briefing, confirm current, depth, limits, signals, buddy and exit procedure.
- Monitor how you feel after diving. Report unusual symptoms immediately and seek medical care.
